GermanFest 2014 VIP Tickets

The 4th annual GermanFest will be held on Saturday, April 26th and will feature German style beers brewed by Oregon breweries. General admission begins at 2 PM.

We have a limited number of advance VIP (12pm entry) tickets for $20. These tickets include five tastes but also allow entrance two hours earlier from 12-2 PM, providing a less frenzied experience as well as guaranteeing a seat somewhere in a far less crowded bar.

Beer List:

10 Barrel German Sparkle Party – Berliner Weisse is a sour, tart, fruity, effervescent ale, often referred to as the champagne of beers for its light and sparkly texture. A little different, but we like different… give it a run for yourself. 4% ABV, 16 IBUs

Base Camp The Incredible Baltor – Baltic Porter – Smooth, roasty Baltic Porter melds together chocolatey malts, tart & fruity Trailhead Coffee Roasters’ Guatemalan coffee, and a blend of whisky- and rum-soaked Oregon oak that we chipped and toasted in-house. 6.9% ABV, 42 IBUs

Breakside Ice – Smoked doppelbock lagered at near freezing temperatures. Rich and smoky but still very dry in the finish. This is the base beer for the first release in our Cellar Reserve series. 8.5% ABV, 23 IBUs

Burnside Hasselhoff Braü – Helles Lager – Brewed with quality Pilsner malt, German Tettnang hops and fermented with the Bohemian lager yeast strain. Cold fermentation produces a nice, crispy snap to a beautiful malt flavor and subtle hop presence. Burnside Hasselhoff Braü, unlike other Burnside Beers, is filtered. Our new high-tech filter allows us to polish up this traditional style to create a bright lager with a crisp finish to style. Hells Yeah! Prost! 5.0% ABV, 13.8 IBUs

The Commons Rauch Alt – Smoked Altbier – A lightly smoked amber ale that is fermented at colder temperatures, according to German brewing traditions.  5.4% ABV

Crux Märzen Bier – Marzen – Hold onto your lederhosen! Rich German malt aroma with a smooth, clean, and rather rich malt flavor. This style is typically brewed in the Spring, signaling the end of the traditional brewing season and stored in cold caves or cellars during the warm summer months. 5.2 ABV, 25 IBU

Deschutes Pine Mountain Pilsner –  A true German-style Pilsner featuring the finest Pilsner malt, Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops and German lager yeast. Cold fermented for a smooth malt taste with a crisp hop finish – as crisp as a clear autumn night on Pine Mountain. 5.2% ABV, 40 IBUs

Falling Sky LageRhythm – Dortmunder Export Lager – Gentle malt sweetness and firm bitterness will keep the backbeat while floral/spicy hop flavor and a crisp finish provide hot licks to last all night. When you need four on the floor, queue up the LageRhythm! 5.5% ABV, 26 IBUs

Flat Tail Zwickel Pils – Unfiltered Pilsner – Our sessionable German-style Pils is brewed with a blend of Weyermann Pilsner, and Bohemian Pilsner malts, hopped with 100% German Tettnanger, and fermented at 48 degrees with a Danish lager strain. This “zwickel” version is pulled from our fermenter three weeks after brew day, when the beer is still hazy, and slightly fruitier than it will be after extended lagering and fining.  4.5% ABV

Gigantic Firebird – Gratzer – A refreshingly complex wheat beer. Aromas of clove and banana intermingle with light smoke imparted from German malt kilned over beechwood fires. 6.1% ABV

Heater Allen Mediator Doppelbock – Doppelbock started out as a Lenten beer for the monks in Germany.  During Lent they would forgo solid food and get all their sustenance from beer. Needless to say it was big beer with lots of unfermented dextrins. Once the public got a taste it became very popular. We call our beer Mediator because we think such a potent brew is better shared than drunk alone. It’s rich, toasty and malty, with a few plum notes on the palate and the slightest roasted character in the finish. 7% ABV, 36.5 IBUs

Hopworks Eis, Eis Baby – Eisbock – Meant to be a sustaining beverage for monks during times of fasting, this traditional German Lager is a rich, delicious meal in a glass. This fortified beer is specially brewed by freezing a doppelbock and removing the ice to concentrate the flavor and alcohol content. Our strong lager has bready and toasty malt character and is warming enough to keep you as cool as you want to be. 12.2% ABV, 30 IBUs

Humble Humbleweizen – Hefeweizen – A simple German-style Hefeweizen thirst quencher with a 50/50 grist of Pilsner & Wheat malts and a single hop addition of Sterling. 4.2% ABV, 14 IBUs

Laurelwood Rites of Spring – Maibock – This German-style lager has the word May (Mai) right in it. These beers are designed for the time of year when the sun comes out and temps are still cold, but trees are blooming and the world is waking up. Ours blends German Malts with local spicy hop varieties to create a smooth, clean and bright pale lager with rich malt flavor and toasted notes. 7.6% ABV, 30 IBUs

Oakshire Bippy’s Baltic Porter – Bippy’s is a strong dark lager with hints of chocolate and licorice in the aroma.  It has a sweet middle with a touch of roast and chocolate flavors that keep it in balance. This Baltic Porter ends with a slow, drawn out finish reminiscent of mocha and brown sugar. 7.4% ABV, 35 IBUs

Old Town Crazy Otto’s Hefe – Bavarian-style Hefeweizen – Classic Hefe flavors of banana, clove, and bubble gum are imparted by our use of a traditional Bavarian yeast strain. Unfiltered and low in alcohol = Spring personified in a glass. Named for King Ludwig II of Bavaria’s insane little brother. 5.0% ABV, 18 IBUs

PINTS Breakin’ the Law-ger – Rye Lager – The modern interpretation of the infamous German Purity Law of 1516 forbids the use of grains other than barley in lager beers. This brew is “verboten” according to that, but we won’t tell if you won’t.  Brewed with German rye and barley malts and hopped with Aurora, formerly known as “Super Styrians,” it has a great spicy character that matches the lager drinkability.  See if you like what the addition of rye does to a German-style lager!  4.7% ABV, 35 IBUs

Santiam 1859 Maibock – A pale, malty, strong German lager with biscuity, honey flavors and a gentle floral character.  7.2% ABV, 25 IBUs

Stickmen Lone Palm Lager – Dortmunder Export Lager – Named after the solitary palm tree in front of the brewpub; as our 1st lager, this Dortmunder Export stands alone as well. It is full of flavor and has a modern twist with Crystal finishing hops. 5.9% ABV, 31 IBUs

Upright Gose – Based on an obscure centuries-old German style that incorporates salt and coriander into a distinctly tart wheat beer with a dry champagne-like finish. 5.2% ABV

Widmer Ronin’s Revenge – Cascadian Schwarzbier – Traditionally, Schwarzbier is a crisp, yet malty, black lager that isn’t heavily hopped. In true NW fashion, our rendition is stronger and hoppier. Midnight wheat provides a smooth, roasted malt base to support the increased hop character. The herbal hop character from UK Pilgrim and Columbia creates an earthy, spicy overall impression.  The use of lager yeast fermented at a high temperature lends the fruity quality of an ale while maintaining the crisp character of a lager. 7.5% ABV, 60 IBUs
